About this book

In this book there are 8 theme-based preparation sections designed to introduce you to topic-relevant vocabulary, remind you of some important grammar points and get you practicing your speaking skills as much as possible.

These are followed by 8 relevant exam preparation units. There is an exam preparation unit to go with each of the 8 sections. This unit should be completed when you have finished the related section. At the end of this book, there are 6 practice tests. The tests are scripted for the examiner. The information the student can see on the day of the exam is highlighted. Keep this in mind while you practise.

Use it as a Self-study Book
把它當作一本自學書

For an exam that involves quite a lot of pair work, it is important to practice discussion activities. Therefore, many of the speaking activities in this book are designed to be done with a partner. However, if you have not got a partner, you need to be imaginative in how you practise. That may even involve creating an ‘imaginary partner’: a character you can act out conversations with. Apart from the discussion activities, all the other exercises are suitable for self-study as they stand.

測驗中含有大量的討論，因此，本書中許多口說練習必須要有一個搭檔，如果你沒有搭檔，你就必須自己想像一個，那可能涉及創造一個「虛擬夥伴」：你可以對著鏡子模擬對話。除了討論活動外，其他的練習都適合自學。
