        Phonic Monster Book 1 offers an introduction to the letter of the alphabet. Each letter ideal presents with sample words and sentences in which the target letter is highlighted. Then, on the following page, there is a tracing exercise to practice writing the letters.

        Also, it includes several reviews exercises that reinforce listening, reading and writing skills. At the back of the book, there is an addition already section where students can practice “putting the letter together” to make short words.

        After finishing this section, students will be prepared to begin Phonic Monster Book 2 – Short Vowel, which picks up where Book 1 level off.

       「發音小精靈」第一冊詳盡的介紹了二十六個字母。每個字母都以潛顯易懂的單字及句子來說明，而每當孩子們學習完字母後，下一頁的追蹤練習便可讓孩子們練習書寫字母以幫助他們將字母及單字深烙在心裡，當孩子們完成整本書時，他們必能不假思索且正確的寫出、讀出A-Z所有的字母。

        此外，這本書也提供了許多複習的單元以增強孩子聽、說、讀、寫的能力。在書末也有個讓孩子們練習用所學的字母拼湊出完整的字詞的單元，等到孩子們完成後，便能進入到「發音小精靈」第二冊-短母音循序以銜接第一冊未完的部分，循序漸進地增強孩子們的記憶力。
